Big Band Swing Club
7:30 p.m.- 10:00p.m.

Come learn Big Band Swing Dancing! Swing Dancing is an original American art form, and a fun way to exercise and meet people. Come alone or with a partner; we offer lessons at 7, followed by social dancing. Beginners are welcome, and your first time is free. Come dance with us!
Admission is $2 a night for nonmembers, free for members.
Club Membership is $15 per semester ($10 if you were a member in fall semester), and includes the
2011-2012 Club T Shirt.

Opening Reception and Commentary by the Artist: Wednesday, April 11 from 1-2pm in the Museum of Anthropology, Old Main 252. Exhibit will be on display in the Museum of Anthropology through May 31st. From the artist: “Through my camera lens I bring the world to our very own Anthropology Museum. My work mainly focuses on women especially, mothers and children. They are my favorite subjects because of their innocence and their true beauty that they add to this world. I am the artist and through my camera I enjoy bringing to life the stories of these women and children. I have been very fortunate to be able to capture their presence and emotion through my photography. The “Women of the World Arise” exhibition captures the grace of women and children from Africa, Russia and Israel.

Effective Coping 2 Workshop

Effective Coping - This two-part workshop is designed to help students cope more effectively with the challenges of college life while they prepare for counseling. Open to all students and staff, the first part surveys common concerns and presenting issues, as well as a model for reviewing thoughts, feelings and needs. The second part introduces and provides practice for value clarification and basic behavior change to help students cope. Participants will be encouraged to read brief articles and keep a one page journal of change. Intro to Effective Coping is a one-time workshop that will give you an overview of sessions one and two. By attending CAPS workshops you will be exposed to a variety of skills to help improve your quality of life and relationships. You are welcome to attend all the workshops or pick and choose the ones that you are most interested in. Seating is limited. Contact us at 797-1012 or stop by TSC 306 to reserve your seat.

Robert Gillies is a physicist, the State of Utah Climatologist, drector of the Utah Climate Center, and associate professor at USU. An advocate for public science and climate change education, professor Gillies will be speaking about his just-released research linking climate change to our weather patterns in Utah as well as discussing the meaning of year to year variations in this area. What will climate change mean for Utah’s weather and our beloved powder?
